If you have accidentally deleted the notebook from cloud storage or you've found out that the notebook is somehow missing from the cloud, don't worry, all the cloud storages have recycle bins and there is nothing simpler than restoring the notebook deleted from a cloud. Restore the notebook using recycle bin / deleted files in a cloud: First thing to do after finding out the notebook was deleted from the cloud storage is going to the thrash folder. Usually all the missing files can be found there.

To restore the files click 'Restore', files will return to their previous place in the cloud folder. A) How to restore the notebook deleted from OneDrive: Login to your OneDrive account at Go to Recycle Bin > choose the notebook you want to restore > Restore. In Outline make the notebook sync to have all the latest edits move to the cloud version.  If the notebook file will end up accidentally deleted from OneDrive, all the sections stored in cloud notebook will disappear from Outline. Please use your backups files to restore this notebook using Outline. How to restore the notebook from the backup. Please note that OneDrive empties files from recycle bin if they've been there for more than 30 days.
Please note that if you move the files from OneDrive folder on your Mac or PC, the files got deleted from the cloud. If you move your notebook from OneDrive folder to any other folder on your Mac, you will be able to reach it by Opening the local notebook folder in Outline ('+' button at the top of the notebooks list > Open from Local). Such notebook won't be synced with the cloud, it will be local. And here are some specifics of OneDrive recycle bin: If OneDrive gives a warning saying it's failed to restore the file, check OneDrive mobile app: Go to recycle bin > Restore the file > check web client to see if the file was restored.  b) How to restore the notebook deleted from Dropbox: Login to your OneDrive account at Go to Deleted files > Restore the notebook.  If the notebook file will end up accidentally deleted from Dropbox, Outline will save the copy of this notebook opened in Outline, it will be local.

C) How to restore the notebook deleted from Box: Login to your Box account at Click on your account name at the upper right corner > Go to Thrash >choose the notebook you want to restore > Restore.   If the notebook file will end up accidentally deleted from Box, Outline will fail to sync such notebook and the warning message will pop up.  Please note that Box empties files from the Thrash folder if they've been there for more than 30 days. Please note that if you move the files from Box folder on your Mac or PC, the files got deleted from the cloud. If you move your notebook from Box folder to any other folder on your Mac, you will be able to reach it by Opening the local notebook folder in Outline ('+' button at the top of the notebooks list > Open from Local). Such notebook won't be synced with the cloud, it will be local.
Restore the notebook deleted from the cloud storage using the temporary copy opened in Outline: Another option of how to restore the notebook deleted from a cloud storage is to save the temporary copy of the notebook that you currently have opened in your Outline. When opening the notebook synced with cloud storage Outline creates a temporary local copy of such notebook. You can change a location of this notebook containing folder to the cloud folder on your mac or upload it again to a cloud on iPad. This way the deleted notebook can be restored even after the 30 days period when the Thrash folder on a cloud gets emptied.
To restore the notebook deleted from a cloud using Outline: a) on Ipad: Tap the notebook's cover > Properties > Location. To change the location choose any other location. To restore the notebook on the previous cloud: - Change the Location first to > Local; - Then change it again to the cloud > Dropbox / Box / OneDrive Note: make sure the folder of the notebook is completely deleted from the cloud or try saving the notebook in another folder on the cloud.
